Unlessyou truly feel like you're going to be away from your phone regularly I'd say don't bother with the cellular model. I fretted over this decision myself before buying my watch recently and I have no regrets going with the GPS watch. In the rare instance I'm not near my phone wi-fi is often an option anyway.

Ive asked this question to my friends and other peers around me recently. The conclusion I got from them was, if you’re an avid outdoor runner or someone who typically doesn’t pay mind to taking their phone with them on nearby errands, gps + cellular would suffice. If you’re never really without your phone, +cellular is mostly useless.

Thenew SE is a great starter watch. You can consider the Series 8 if you want an always-on screen, or you could go for the Ultra if you want the most battery life possible and you don’t care about size or cost.

Thats wholly incorrect. Most, if not all of the apps that are available on the Apple Watch come from a companion iPhone app. So no, you cannot use the watch as you state. You still need an iPhone for about 98% of stuff that you want to do with the Watch. 2.
